About Us

Claremont Sunrise Rotary

Claremont Sunrise Rotary was chartered May 22, 1986. We are made up of leaders that are business owners, professional and civic leaders in a variety of occupations. We meet regularly, get to know each other, form friendships, get a lot of things done in our community and most importantly we have a lot of fun in the process.

Rotary is a worldwide network of inspired individuals who translate their passions into relevant social causes to improve lives. Rotary is an organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 clubs and over 1.2 million members worldwide. We are proud to be part of such a great organization.

Claremont Sunrise Rotary has been changing lives in our local community and internationally since 1986. We are very much involved with youth and their development. They are the next leaders of our world and we play a key role in developing leaders for the future. The Claremont Sunrise Rotary Club meets on Wednesday mornings from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church, 830 W Bonita Ave., Claremont. In 2018 we added a satellite club, Claremont Sunset Rotary Club which meets on the first Thursday of each month from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. at a local eatery.

The information below is from proceeds we have contributed in fiscal years 2017-2018 and 2016-2017. Our members are fantastic and give of themselves in so many ways. If you would like to find out more about us, please email us at info@csrmail.org

Quote from a member who had the Turkey Trot Vision:

“We have fun, but what’s important is we can and should make a difference. What I am proudest of are the friends I’ve made and the memories I have. Kate once told me after one of our marathon Turkey Trot meetings that she noticed something. It was that my Rotary friends were really looking out for me on a particular issue. That love is hard to find, but I know I have it with many of you.” - Doug Thompson

What is Rotary?

We are 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. Our differing occupations, cultures, and countries give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable.

Our distinct point of view and approach gives us unique advantages:

  • We see differently: Our multidisciplinary perspective helps us see challenges in unique ways.
  • We think differently: We apply leadership and expertise to social issues—and find unique solutions.
  • We act responsibly: Our passion and perseverance create lasting change.
  • We make a difference at home and around the world: Our members can be found in your community and across the globe.

Our impact starts with our members—people who work tirelessly with their clubs to solve some of our communities' toughest challenges. Their efforts are supported by Rotary International, our member association, and The Rotary Foundation, which turns generous donations into grants that fund the work of our members and partners around the world. Rotary is led by our members—responsible leaders who help to carry forward our organization's mission and values in their elected roles.

We've been making history and bringing our world closer together for over 100 years. Since forming in 1905, Rotary International has taken on some of the world's toughest challenges and helped a wide range of international and service organizations—from the UN to Easter Seals—get started.

Responsible leadership means more than just doing good work—it means making the most out of every donation we receive.

We have identified specific causes to target to maximize our local and global impact. At the same time, we understand that each community has its own unique needs and concerns. Through our network of resources and partners, we help clubs focus their service efforts in promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and building understanding for peace.
